Master
Classes
The concept of the master class has a long history, and one often associated with music and the performing arts. On the other hand, the management community has long taken advantage of the expertise and experience of its leaders, and senior members in such fields as business and finance, scientific research, and government and the military are frequently asked to share their knowledge in “master-class-like” discussions.
Until now, the use of the master class as a learning methodology has had limited application in the larger library and information management, knowledge management, and strategic learning fields. That picture now changes as SMR International offers its Knowledge Services Master Classes, with Guy St. Clair. Bringing together a group of client-selected participants, the format of the program includes a collection of discussion materials, an opening statement or presentation, and facilitated discussion.
The following Knowledge Services Master Classes are currently offered:
SMR International’s Master Classes are conducted by Guy St. Clair, the company’s President and Consulting Specialist for Knowledge Services. Guy St. Clair’s most recent book, Beyond Degrees: Professional Learning for Knowledge Services, was published by K.G. Saur in 2003.
