Welcome to 2011 and what I’m seeing as a new world for KM/knowledge services. More and more people, it seems to me, are speaking about knowledge strategy and the importance of the connection between an organization’s business/management strategy and its knowledge strategy.
At the same time, KM has been around long enough that we’re now seeing considerable re-evaluation – you might call it – of the whole approach to organizational KM. Here at SMR International, we use the knowledge services construct (merging information management, knowledge management, and strategic learning) as the expanded framework for KM. It’s perfect, and knowledge services provides tangible and measurable results for SMR’s clients.
But the basic question remains: as companies seek to re-evaluate KM and, particularly, as corporate management looks for better KM tools and techniques, what works? What’s best?
What are some of the KM/knowledge services models you believe are working? What’s broken? What needs some tweaks?
What’s the next step in your organization?

HUMAN SYSTEM BIOLOGY-BASED KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SERVICES MODEL FRAMEWORK THAT WORKS
Source : http://bit.ly/fTiDvt
Within our Human System Biology-based KM (HSBKM) model framework, we developed three boundaries of KM regarding their interface with the environment. They are, KM Tools (Techno-based boundary), KM Process Framework (Human Mind-based boundary), KM Standard Culture & Value (Organizational Learning-based boundary). On these boundaries, visit our K-base http://bit.ly/dSl4Vk
Considering from our Human System Biology-based Knowledge Management (HSBKM) model framework stand point, evidence showed that KM TOOLS ( Techno tools including Social Media) which is only weighted score 1.0 as value of their “Knowledge with Lower Consciousness (KLC)”, symbolizing human senses or peripheral nerve system to develop “CORPORATE SENSES” , could be leveled up as KM PROCESS FRAMEWORK, be like as Human Tacit Mind or Individual Learning Process behaving as “CORPORATE MIND BRAIN”, with weighted score 3.0 for their value of “Knowledge with Medium Consciousness (KMC)”, symbolizing human central nerve system or mind brain only after KM Tools classified as Web 3.0 and/or Semantic Web including Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as other advanced smart hi-tech and/or smart Decision Support System to act as human mind brain substitution
But, within context of organizational culture and value with higher complexity environment that needs involvement of “Knowledge with Higher Consciousness (KHC)” and symbolizing our consciousness genomic DNA as “CORPORATE CONSCIOUSNESS DNA” representing as KM STANDARDS (Culture and Value) covering Codified / Explicit Knowledge, Human Social Behavior, Organizational Culture (Learning Organization) with weighted score 5.0, is not possible until recently to be substituted with techno tools whatsoever! ( Refer also to the link “WE ARE KM-REGULATED BY NATURE vice-versa BY NATURE WE ARE KM MODEL” -http://mobeeknowledge.ning.com/forum/topics/we-are-kmregulated-by-nature )
Therefore, in practicing KM, we just put the technology factor as 3rd priority setting against human mind as 2ndpriority and organizational learning culture as 1st priority setting respectively. The weighted score for the value of techno (machine) learning only 1.0 compared to 3.0 and 5.0 for human (individual) learning and organizational learning regarding the difficulty as well as the complexity in executing them (see also http://mobeeknowledge.ning.com/forum/topics/matching-knowledge-strategy-to – “MATCHING KNOWLEDGE STRATEGY TO BUSINESS STRATEGY” )

Knowledge is an important valuable aspect and must be well managed and measured. So far, it seems no well accepted method for assessing the Competency as well as the Capability Maturity in field of practicing Knowledge-based or Knowledge Management within corporate. Amid such condition, we have developed our KM Metric version called “Mobee Knowledge Competency and Capability Maturity” (MKCCM) model (visit http://mobeeknowledge.ning.com/forum/topics/introducing-mobee-knowledge-1 – “INTRODUCING MOBEE KNOWLEDGE COMPETENCY AND CAPABILITY MATURITY (MKCCM™) MODEL : A PRELIMINARY REPORT” ) and for case example on the utilization of MKCCM model, visit http://mobeeknowledge.ning.com/forum/topics/applying-our-knowledge – “APPLYING OUR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT METRICS IN MEASURING BANKING RISK MANAGEMENT ACHIEVEMENT”

Thanks so much to Md Santo for that cogent response. Very impressed to see knowledge culture and value so cogently described, in connection with KM/knowledge services success. Appreciate your sharing.
